Competency teams
To offer you the best possible service, your projects are always handled by a single competency team. A competency team consists of 3 or 4 employees who are available as permanent contact partners. In this way, we are able to ensure quick reaction and processing times when handling your orders.
- Support by a permanent team
- 3–4 employees per competency team
- High level of customer focus due to specific know-how of the team members
- Short reaction and processing times
- High level of availability of contact partners
In-house philosophy
We process your orders primarily in our own offices. The project management, translation/localisation, quality assurance, desktop publishing and software engineering departments are all in-house at our Berlin location.
- Low interface losses
- High level of data security
- Fast processing
- Focussed expertise
Seamless integration into your processes
Not all tasks involved in technical translations and software localisation can be performed with standard software applications available on the market.
To ensure seamless integration into your production process, our engineering division will develop optimal solutions for your workflow.
- Automated processes
- Faster processing
- Elimination of sources of error
- Low project management costs
- Low data handling costs
- Processing of special formats

Translation memories
A translation memory system is a structured database system in which translations are stored. This system automatically suggests previously translated text segments to the translator. A sufficiently large data repository can greatly facilitate the translation work, speeding it up significantly.
In addition to the conventional tools found on the market, 4-Text also utilises the proprietary translation technology FELIX. This allows us to flexibly react to your needs and to provide optimisation that cannot be realised with conventional tools.
Translation memory systems in general
- Cost reduction up to 60%
- Shorter processing times
- High level of consistency regarding terminology and style
- Computer-aided quality assurance
- Preservation of the document formatting through separation of contents and layout
- Import of existing translation memories or reference material possible
Additional options offered by our FELIX technology
- Context-sensitive preliminary translation for additional cost savings of up to 80% (FELIX repository)
- AI-based, highly efficient consistency and stylistic check (FELIX QA)
- Customised quality checks (FELIX QA)
- Networked collaboration of any number of translators on one project without adversely affecting quality (FELIX Tbase server)
- Seamless integration into your processes and customised workflow (FELIX TCS)
- Provision of your terminology data by means of a web portal (FELIX Terms)
Quality assurance technology
A translation memory is part of the intellectual property of a company and is a valuable resource. Protecting these assets and preventing a loss in quality can only be achieved through regular monitoring.
Due to the complex structure of modern translation memory systems, performing such a quality assurance manually would be time-consuming and costly. For an optimal cost/benefit ratio, we rely on modern quality assurance technology.
